Tourists look at the Wu Gorge from the window of a hydrofoil whilst travelling up the Newly formed "ribbon lake" of the Yangtze River in China. The construction of the Three Gorges Dam and rise in water level of around 100 meters, creating a narrow lake 450 km in length and  has resulted in the relocation of around 1.5 million people. All of their homes have been destroyed. The Dam is now completed and the water will rise a further 35 meters this fall..16 May 2006
