Hang Seng Bank has been awarded the exclusive right to display the monster coin, the '2012 Australian Kangaroo One Tonne Gold Coin', in Hong Kong. Issued by The Perth Mint as legal tender with a monetary denomination of one million Australian dollars (Euro 655,704.00), the coin contains one tonne of 99.99% pure gold and is officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the largest and heaviest coin in the world. As at 8 January, the gold value of the coin is more than HKD305 million (Euro 28,911,715.00). It is the first time the coin has been available for public viewing outside Australia.
